Phillip Dell Godbee, Sr.

Phillip Dell Godbee, Sr., 63, died Monday, March 24, 2014 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He was born in Savannah, son of Larry Dell Godbee and Vera Hendrix Godbee. He was a graduate of Savannah High School and Savannah Vocational Technical School where he earned certification as a master electrician. Mr. Godbee worked as a foreman at the Georgia Ports Authority for 10 years and soon after owned and operated Godbee and Rimes Electrical, Inc. for 35 years. Mr. Godbee was a member of Higher Ground Baptist Church formerly Cresthill Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father and the world's best "Papa". Other than his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Bobby and Richard Godbee.

Surviving are his wife of 39 years, Helen O'Neal Godbee of Savannah; son and daughter-in-law, Dell and Michele Godbee of Savannah; grandson, Greyson Dell Godbee of Savannah; nephew, Michael Godbee of Savannah.

Visitation: 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel.

Funeral: 11:30 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2014 in the Hodgson Chapel of Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
